April 22 RunApalooza races: Jersey Shore Relay Marathon, Asbury Park Half Marathon, and Jersey Shore 5k

Proceeds help to fund Jersey Shore Dream Center’s many community outreaches serving Monmouth and Ocean Counties

April 17, 2017, Wall/Sea Girt, NJ — The Jersey Shore Dream Center, a growing, non-profit organization that alleviates poverty, hunger, and addiction in Monmouth County and beyond, welcomes SOAR Physical Therapy and Acupuncture of Sea Girt for the second year in a row.

“We are so thrilled to have the opportunity for the second straight year to be working with such an amazing organization. Soar has demonstrated tremendous integrity and generosity in their giving and support of another successful RunAPalooza in 2017.” - Isaac Friedel, Founder of the Jersey Shore Dream Center

RunApalooza, presented by the Jersey Shore Running Club on Saturday, April 22nd 2017, will encompass three races: the Jersey Shore Relay Marathon, Asbury Park Half Marathon, and Jersey Shore 5k. The races serve to benefit The Special Olympics of NJ, and the Jersey Shore Dream Center, but are also the largest fundraiser of the year for the Jersey Shore Dream Center. Since Asbury Park is home to RunApalooza, the Jersey Shore Running club decided to extend its generosity to a small non-profit that serves the local neighborhoods. As a formal recognition the club’s integral support, the Jersey Shore Dream Center dedicated their Women’s Home to the running club in 2015.

The Jersey Shore Dream Center was founded by Pastor Isaac Friedel of Shore Christian Church in Asbury Park, NJ in 2012, in order to “find a need and fill it.” The mission of the Jersey Shore Dream Center is to provide sustainability through Godly restoration of men, women, children, seniors, and veterans who are overcome by life controlling issues, such as chronic homelessness addiction, poverty, abuse, and hunger.

In just five years, the Jersey Shore Dream Center has grown to serve 50,000 individuals a year in Asbury Park, Belmar, Eatontown, Neptune, Ocean Grove, and other communities. Programs include “Adopt-a-Block,” a Baby Supplies Pantry, low-income housing for single mothers, women’s 12-month residential home, and a Mobile Food Truck that distributed 72,000 pounds of food in 2016.

The Road Runners Club of America has designation the Asbury Park Half marathon as an Eastern Regional Championship Race. The finish line for all three RunAPalooza races is on the Asbury Park Boardwalk, by Convention Hall. Individual runners have the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the Jersey Shore Dream Center. Details about the Jersey Shore Relay Marathon, Asbury Park half marathon, or Jersey Shore 5K can be found at www.runapalooza.org

Since 1988 Shore Orthopedic & Athletic Rehabilitation (S.O.A.R. Physical Therapy and Acupuncture) has been widely regarded as a leading expert in the field of wellness and rehabilitation. “SOAR takes pride in sponsoring this race and supporting the Dream Centers mission to help Individuals restore broken dreams. Look for us race day for complimentary pre-run or post-race services such as Kinesiotaping, Massage, Stretching, and Cupping”

Thanks to RunAPalooza and the Jersey Shore Running Club, the Jersey Shore Dream Center plans to build an addition onto the women’s residence, and construct new low-income based housing in Asbury Park, NJ to meet the needs of the community.
