It's that time of year again for our Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner. We are so excited to be hosting this dinner in a new location and hoping to serve more individuals this year than last year.
The thoughts of stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, cornbread, and pumpkin pie are enough to make your mouth water. BUT, this isn't the same for all. This time of year is very difficult for those who have hit hard times. The most recent governmental data collected shows that in 2016, of the 8.7 million people living in New Jersey, 915,913 are living under the poverty line. 14.3% are children under the age of 18. The median household income for New Jersey for a family of four is $74,000 per year. Statistics show that for a family of four making under $24,340 per year you are living under the poverty line. These statistics unfortunately are real. What can you do to help those in need this holiday season?
