This spring the Jersey Shore Dream Center is hitting the ground running, literally. On Saturday, April 16th, the Jersey Shore Dream Center will be partnering with the Jersey Shore Running Club in our annual “Run 4 Dreams.” All proceeds of the event will go directly to the Dream Center where it will be distributed among our nine different programs in order to relieve hunger, fight poverty, and restore broken dreams.
If you too are eager to serve people, we invite you to take the next step by taking part in the “Run 4 Dreams.” It is a scenic, 5k run, following a flat course along the Jersey Shore. Each runner – or walker – that participates will acquire sponsors who are willing to pledge money. Join the Walk/Run here.
All proceeds raised go directly to the Jersey Shore Dream Center’s nine different programs, which served the needs of over 27,000 lives in 2015.
There is a place for everyone, so please consider the role below which best suits you. The run will begin at 8:30am on Saturday, April 16th in Asbury Park. We hope to see you there.

This coming spring, on April 16th I will be participating in the 2nd annual “Run 4 Dreams” RUNAPOLOZZA 5k & half marathon fundraiser. All proceeds of the event will go directly to the Dream Center where it will be distributed among their fourteen different programs and in order to relieve hunger, fight poverty, and restore broken dreams.
In recent years poverty in the state of New Jersey has been on the rise. In fact, current poverty rates in our state have reached levels unseen in the almost fifty years. Today 877,907 New Jersey residents live on less than 2 dollars per day, accounting for 9.9% of the total population. Out of this number, many are concentrated in low-income areas like Asbury Park, a city which has a poverty rate of 30%.
One of poverty’s many symptoms is hunger, a struggle with which too many people in our area are acquainted with. Current data shows that the number of New Jersey residents living in food insecure households totals 1,190,130 individuals, of which 380,170 are children. Furthermore, out of those who are classified as food insecure, only 55% percent qualify for federal support.
Such need demands a response. That is why the Jersey Shore Dream Center has established nine individual programs to serve the needs of our local community. Here they seek to find a need and fill it, to find a hurt and heal it; here they seek to change lives by loving people, as Christ first loved us. Operating under this conviction, the JSDC was able to serve 27,000 people in 2013 alone.
If you too are eager to serve people, I ask you to take the next step by sponsoring me in the “Run 4 Dreams.” You may pledge any amount desired ($25, $50, $100, $500). You can make this donation online at http://jerseyshoredreamcenter.org/run-4-dreams-run-a-palooza-2016 by clicking on the donate button next to my picture. You may also sponsor by check/ cash. Please make checks payable to Jersey Shore Dream Center. Since the Jersey Shore Dream Center is a 501 © 3, all donations are tax deductible.
Thank you for your support and lets make a difference together,
The Jersey Shore Dream Center Team
